Minus One
Mark Taylor - Bass, Vocals
Victor De Fiesta - Guitar, Drums
Matt Coughlin - Drums - Guitar

This is a young punk band from Yucaipa, CA. Locally there they play at the White Rabbit Coffee Shop. The band recorded at the recording studio in mid 2002 and were engineered by Conrad Askland.

They are tentatively scheduled, space permitting, to have a edited cut on the Road Records New Faces Volume Four CD compilation.

One interesting note, during the recording the drummer and guitar player switched instruments! That’s pretty strong.

Influences: Lagwagon, Strung Out, Face to Face, Rancid, Anti Flag, NOFX, Hi-Standard, Deviates

Minus One would like to thank Tom’s Music, Our Families and Friends, White Rabbit Coffee Shop, Our Future Fans, and whoever supported us.

Cenizas - Hispanic Gothic Rock

Saint Peter Davila - Drums
Czar Delgarde - Guitar
Tony Arreola - Bass

Cenizas, which means “ashes” in spanish, is a gothic rock band that sings in spanish.

Mixing the gothic elements of the latin culture like old catholic cathedrals, Indian witches, mysterious pyramids and the Mexican Day of the Dead with gothic rock.

Cenizas add a new chapter to both the spanish rock scene and the gothic rock scene. In the words of drummer Saint Peter Davila: “I was influenced by gothic bands like Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails and Joy Division. Having Latin roots, it became a natural progression to mix the two together.

At the time of recording the group was based out of the Southern California High Desert.

SIMPLE ANDY
In a small section of southern California, 5 musicians from several bands have emerged united as Simple Andy.

Jason Oles (Vocals and Rhythm Guitar) is a classicaly trained vocalist, Ricardo Cortez (Lead and Rhythm Guitar) has been playing guitar for over 8 years, Ryan Richards (Lead and Rhythm Guitar, Backround Vocals) has been playing and working in the industry for 6 years, J.R. Kurtz has been playing drums in bands and sessions for 5 years, and James Q has been strumming the bass in bands for over 20 years.

Joining together out of seperate bands to write songs together in the summer of 2001, Ricardo and Ryan recruited Jason (who sang in Ryan’s first band) in the fall. By September of 2002 the current lineup was complete, and Simple Andy hit the High Desert with a few small but intense gigs.

Now with their debut CD, ‘More Than This’ CD nearing release, Simple Andy are gearing up for many gigs and hopefully coming to a place near you.

Note from Ryan: A little gay, but it should work. hehe, ooops, were we supposed to edit that out?

Engineer Notes from Conrad: This was a great group to work with. Everyone was very cool and focused on the work at hand. The elements that stand out in this group include the incredible vocal range of Jason Oles (He could be an Irish tenor) and the interesting guitar textures and counterpoint. They had some very ingenious layers and combinations of clean guitar, acoustic guitar and grunge type guitar sounds that fit together like a glove……no, not THAT kind of glove.

This is one of the few bands I’ve worked with that really IS hard to categorize. It’s grunge, melodic….I want to say “adult pop grunge rock” but it’s pop in all the good ways and it’s adult in it’s beautiful melodies, not adult like in MOR.

These are some of the nicest guys I’ve ever worked with and very focused on their music. If anyone is A&R browsing this page I’d suggest you spend some time and at least listen to what they have going on. Here, I’ll make it easy: www.SimpleAndy.com

At the end of the final mixing a band member who hadn’t been there for the mixing process and hadn’t heard it yet asked if I used any panning on the album. Mmmm….I always wondered what those buttons were for.
